I think it was a flop mostly because it was clearly outdated... The first problem was the town of Metropolis wich didn't felt alive imo... The other problem was The main character Superman/Clark Kent... He decides to leave earth and a pregnant Lois to check on a rumor that a part of Krypton had survived. He basically leave the love of his life with a Super Baby all alone, and we are supposed to have sympathy for him when he comes back. Now hear me out. Giving flaws to a character is great, when it's done great. For example in Smallville, Clark was also selfish and sometimes pretty judgemental (something many of his friends and sometimes his parents will critisize him for), but we had to witness the process of him changing to become a better person so could be a better hero. Here, there's nothing, Even Reeve's Superman had more personality. My second problem with that movie is that it tries Soooo much to be nostalgic about an era that had nothing to do with 2006. While Batman Begins was trying something new with Bruce Wayne, Superman Returns was trying to get back to its former glory in cinema (while forgetting that Superman III and IV were failures). The third is it's story...OMG i stop LOOL

I hope the pace of the film is somewhat slowed down compared to the constant 3 to 5 second edits of the last offering. So many films with CGI for every special effect seem to be fast & quick to the point of, ¨what happened?¨ Or right when something really good begins it's over; drag the tension/suspense out, make us squirm in our chairs for a change. Better yet, spend time showing us the ¨WHY¨ of why we should care about these characters & what happens to them. 😀

I hope this won't suck as much as so many sequels to Alien and Aliens have. But I have no choice but to expect the worst at this point.

Damn, Fede really took it back to the classic. This sounds serious.

According to newly released rumours,the story starts with a spaceship discovering the remains of the first xenomorph from the alien movie.They bring it to the nearest spacestation and extract it for eggs which creates the facehuggers.Then the whole spacestation gets infected and all the humans dies,and leaves a big xenomorph hive behind. When contact is lost with the other spacestations.A spaceship is sendt to investigate. Then a battle breaks out,and only one off the investigators manage to escape. Or did she? In the end we see that she also is infected and she sets the escapepod to self construct,but before that happens,the escape pod lands on a unknown planet with small humanlike beings,but with blue skin. And that makes a cliffhanger for a follow-up movie ?

VFX wise..... Sounds promising. Not sure about the story or acting though. I'll have to wait and see for myself.
